On Sunday our President declared a National Disaster because of the growing influence Covid-19 has on our lives and communities.  We stand by and support this Thuma Mina moment in helping shape South Africa’s future.  Below are 6 things we ask of our clients and 6 things we are doing ourselves in order to ensure the communities safety.

 

Important upfront is to stress COVID-19 cannot be transmitted by your pets. 

 

Should you or a family member be ill and need a consultation for your pet then please call the clinic in order to discuss best way for us to help your pets. 

 

Our older and immunocompromised clients must please phone the clinic with any requests and our team will go out of our way to assist with home deliveries.

 

We would like to ask the following of our clients:

1. Please stick to your appointment times – Menlyn Animal Clinic works by appointment with appointments being booked by phoning 0124605252

2. If you would prefer to wait in your car then please phone and inform reception on arrival - our receptionist will come to your car and inform you when the Doctor is ready to see you to limit time in waiting area

3. Please make use of hand sanitizer in reception – we recommend cleaning your hands on entry and exit of the clinic

4. Please ensure only one owner per pet in the consulting room – we are trying to limit human contact in the consulting rooms

5. There is an opportunity to pre-pay R500 EFT before a consult – this will limit unnecessary contact when leaving the clinic and balance can be paid after consult by EFT (NOTE: Our card machines will be cleaned between every client)

6. You are encouraged to order medications and larger food orders in advance so that the team can prepare them for collection and thus limit your time in the clinic – pre-payment is also an option, and reception can take food to the car

 

Be assured we are doing the following in our practice to limit the spread of COVID-19 and ensure your and our community’s safety:

1. All user-heavy surfaces (doorknobs, client seating, computer terminals, etc) will be sanitized once an hour (card payment terminals sanitized between client interactions)

2. All team members, as working medical professionals, are advised to wear masks (Clients will have the option of requesting team members to wear masks, this should be respected)

3. All team members to have temperatures monitored twice daily

4. All support staff (finance, human resources, marketing, etc) working from home and helping manage the practices via cloud computing

5. Stricter handwashing rules have been implemented across all team members in the clinic

6. Team rotas being adapted in order to limit social networking and travel

 

This is a time of difficulty for the country and world.  Communities have an opportunity to work together and support each other to come out stronger.
